'St. Oluf' team wins bee
October 9, 2007
For the second year in a row, the "St. Oluf" team won the annual Northfield Adult Spelling Bee sponsored by Friends of the Library Oct. 4. The event, which raised about $5,000 that will go toward enhancing the Northfield Public Library's children and teen literature sections, was held at the Grand Event Center.
Returning veteran and Professor of Mathematics Paul Zorn anchored the St. Olaf team. Joining him were Assistant Professor of Psychology Shelly Dickinson and Associate Director of Marketing-Communications David Gonnerman '90. The Oles finished at the top of the 12-team field when they correctly spelled "c-i-n-e-p-h-i-l-e."
