During a ceremony Oct. 23 to sign India's first sister-state agreement that tied Minnesota to the Indian state of Haryana, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty publicly praised state Sen. Satveer Chaudhary '91 for his role in making the historic agreement happen.

"For me this is personal," said Chaudhary. "This is my ancestral home ... and this [agreement] is my dream."
