Summer recital to feature viola and piano
June 23, 2007
Saturday, June 23
Studio A, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy an evening of summer music with violist Renée Moore-Sherik and composer/pianist Dominic Dousa, who will perform summer-themed works by Schumann, Brahms, Rebecca Clark and original compositions by Dousa. Recitals with viola and piano are rare events, making this a unique event.
Renée Moore-Sherik received her DMA in viola at the University of Minnesota. She was recently the violist of the Artaria Quartet in the Twin Cities but later moved to Texas to become a professor at Texas Tech University. Dominic Dousa, a native of Rochester, Minnesota, is a professor of music composition at the University of Texas El Paso. Dousa's pieces, "Evening Piece and Summer Dance" and "The Winds of a Summer Night," will be sure to set the mood for a lovely evening of music-making.
