Anton Armstrong has been teaching and conducting at St. Olaf since 1990.
St. Olaf Choir Conductor Anton Armstrong '78 recently led a 500-voice choir assembled from Christian Reformed churches across west Michigan during a service that celebrated the denomination's 150th anniversary. The choir sang for some 12,000 worshippers who gathered in the Van Andel arena in Grand Rapids June 10 (plus 2,000 more in an overflow venue) in the largest worship service ever held by the Christian Reformed Church.

Armstrong, who was recognized last year with a prestigious Cherry Award for Great Teaching, spent 10 years on the faculty of CRC-affiliated Calvin College in Grand Rapids. "This is my own way to say thanks to the community, the church and God," he said.
