By Tom Vogel
June 19, 2007

Mayor R.T. Rybak recently nominated St. Olaf alumnus Mike Christenson '81 to head the Minneapolis Community Planning and Economic Development agency, which focuses on synchronizing the city's planning, economic development, housing and job training efforts. Christenson, who graduated from St. Olaf with a B.A. in political science, has been Minneapolis' economic development leader since 2003. In the Minneapolis-based Star Tribune Rybak describes Christenson as "one of the people who understands connecting all the parts of the city." A story on Christenson's appointment also appears in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal [link below].
