Ask an expert: Reporters learn about campus safety

St. Olaf College was the focus of media attention earlier this week when it hosted a timely, one-day conference on school safety that was organized and presented by Hawkeye-Security Insurance. The conference was geared toward K-12 education, but security expert Michael Dorn, of the nonprofit organization Safe Havens International, was well qualified to speak to security issues in higher education. Local NBC affiliates KTTC (from Rochester) and Twin Cities-based KARE (linked below) visited St. Olaf to learn more (read about the college's crisis plan).
