Finger earns Class A membership in PGA
August 3, 2006
Le Ann Finger, men's and women's golf coach at St. Olaf, has graduated from the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA) Professional Golf Management Program, earning her Class A membership in the PGA.
The PGA/Professional Golf Management (PGM) program, a college curriculum for aspiring PGA Professionals, is a structured educational program accredited by the PGA. PGA/PGM programs provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, internship experience and player development.
Prior to entering the PGM program, candidates must pass a Playing Ability Test , which Finger passed by shooting seven-over par over 36-holes. Fewer than 20 percent of participants taking the test achieve a passing score.
