The Rural AIDS Action Network (RAAN) will host an Art for AIDS art sale at St. Olaf College in Buntrock Commons Saturday, May 13, from 1 to 7 p.m. The show will feature the work of Minnesota artist Derk Hansen, who will donate 15 percent of the show's profits to RAAN.

A presentation by Curt Peterson, director of RAAN, and members of Student Global AIDS will begin at 5 p.m.

Hansen has more then 150 limited edition lithographs and collector prints and more than two dozen limited edition collector plates to his credit. His research fieldwork has taken him throughout Africa and to New Zealand, and he's painted eagles and bears in Alaska and whales in Hawaii. Hansen has received two Awards of Excellence and the Artist of the Year Award from the Minnesota Wildlife Heritage Show. He was the official artist of the Great American Cattle Drive in 1995, and one of his loon prints was presented to the visiting king and queen of Sweden as a gift from the State of Minnesota to the people of Sweden.

RAAN is a nonprofit, community-based organization that develops and sustains caring communities of professionals and volunteers that serve and support people who are living with, affected by or at risk for HIV/AIDS in the rural Midwest.
