Visitation, funeral set for Religion Professor Susan Lindley

The family of Religion Professor Susan Lindley, who died of cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 27, has announced the arrangements for her visitation and funeral service.

Visitation was held at Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, from 2 to 5 p.m.

The funeral service will be held today (Jan. 2) at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in Faribault (915 N.W. Second Ave.; 507-334-7732).

Professor Lindley received her Ph.D. from Duke University in the field of History of Christianity. Her 1996 book, You Have Stepped Out of Your Place: A History of Women and Religion in America (Westminster John Knox Press), combined her teaching interests in religion in America, women in Judaism, and Christianity.

Susan and her husband, John, have four children, one of whom is a sophomore at St. Olaf College.
