St. Olaf College will host the Save Seafood tour on tonight at 7 p.m. at the Lion's Pause in Buntrock Commons. The public is invited to the event, which is Sponsored by Bon Appetit, the food service of St. Olaf College. Admision is free and a dessert reception will follow.

The purpose of the tour is to promote sustainable methods of growing and harvesting seafood. In addition to the showing of a documentary film on aquaculture (the same that Bon Appetit uses to educate its employees about sustainable seafood choices), the event also will include staff from California's Monterrey Bay Aquarium on hand to discuss how the search for seafood can affect the health, economy and politics of countries across the globe.

"In support of St. Olaf's current sustainability efforts, this is an excellent opportunity to offer the campus community valuable information about the state of our oceans and fish populations," said Hays Atkins, general manager of Bon Appetit at St. Olaf. "Our hope is that we can work together to help stop the global decline of fish populations."
