Constitution Day to be observed on campus
September 22, 2005
Constitution Day will be celebrated with a lecture by Charles Umbanhowar, Sr., professor emeritus of political science, at 11:30 p.m. The title of his lecture "Keeping a Constitution in Wartime," will focus on the continued vitality of the Constitution, especially during wartime, for over 200 years.
Legislation passed by Congress last year requires all educational institutions receiving federal funding to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year, commemorating the Sept. 17, 1787 signing of the Constitution.
