St. Olaf staff honor deceased faculty and staff
May 27, 2005
Memorial Day is a time of remembrance at St. Olaf College with volunteers from the college community placing mums on the gravesites of deceased faculty and staff buried in Northfield cemetaries. Former Vice President David E. Johnson and Public Relations Director Jack Laugen started this tradition in the early 1950s and it continues to this day. This year 20 staff members will be placing the gold football mums with black ribbons on the gravesites on May 27 at Oaklawn, Northfield and Calvary Cemetaries.
