Women peacemakers from Jerusalem to describe their experiences in the Middle East

St. Olaf College will host "Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision" on Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in Rolvaag Memorial Library, room 525. Nina Mayorek, Aitemad Muhanna and Diana Kattan will share their personal experiences and hopes for peace. The event, sponsored by Partners for Peace, is free and open to the public.

These three women live the day-to-day reality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Their lecture offers a unique opportunity to hear the personal side of a painful conflict from women whose lives have been adversely affected by violence and occupation. They have witnessed the deterioration around them over the past four years of Israeli-Palestinian fighting, but have made a commitment to share with American audiences their hopes for a future of lasting peace made possible by substantive Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

This is the ninth "Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision" tour sponsored by Partners for Peace since 1998. The lecture is funded by the Robert A. Leraas Interdisciplinary Lecture Fund, Middle East Studies concentration in Women's Studies at St. Olaf.
