Islamic conference to be held at St. Olaf College
April 30, 2005
The first-ever Islamic conference titled "Diversity in Islam and the Development of an Islamic Identity in the United States" will be held at St. Olaf College on Saturday, April 30, in Buntrock Commons, Black and Gold Ballrooms. The conference features workshops, two main speakers, student panel discussion and a bazaar with Islamic goods, and is open to the public.
Dr. Imam Senad Agic from the Muslim Cultural Center in Northbrook, Illinois, will be one of the featured speakers. Agic is the Grand Mufti for Bisnians in America and Mufti of Chicago. Also speaking is Ustadh Shariif, director of Islamic Youth in Rochester, Minn. He is an engineer at IBM in Rochester and holds an engineering degree from Michigan State University.
