St. Olaf faculty promoted, tenured

Provost and Dean of the College Jim May has announced that the following members of the St. Olaf faculty have received tenure and been promoted to associate professor:

• Terry Fitzgerald, Department of Economics
• Paul Jackson, Department of Chemistry
• Karen Marsalek, Department of English
• Anne Sabo, Department of Norwegian

May also announced that the following faculty have been promoted to professor:

• Jo Beld, Department of Political Science
• Karen Cherewatuk, Department of English
• Eric Cole, Department of Biology
• Bonnie Sherman, Department of Psychology

According to the college's Faculty Manual, promotions are granted to faculty who have met "high standards of professional competence in their disciplines" and who possess "the ability and interest to ensure continued growth."
