Sanders '94 presents lecture on suicide

Sara Sanders '94, assistant professor of social work at the University of Iowa, recently presented her lecture, "Professional Reactions to Client Suicidal Behavior," at St. Olaf. The event was sponsored by the St. Olaf Social Work Program in recognition of National Social Work Month.
Sanders is the recipient of the 2005 Genesis Award in Social Work, presented by the St. Olaf Family and Social Service Department for being the first St. Olaf bachelor of social work graduate to obtain a doctorate in social work. Her research interests pertain to grief and loss reactions in caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease, male caregiver issues and the impact of client suicide on social workers.
