Lecture series to consider hope as a vehicle for change
March 31, 2005
The Hope Lecture Series, sponsored by the St. Olaf Environmental Coalition, will reflect on hope -- specifically, how people nurture and sustain it -- in an increasingly difficult world, filled with doomsday prophecies, terror, war, injustice and environmental degradation.
The lecture series begins Thursday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m., with a talk by Dan Marx, a junior majoring in American studies, and Assistant Professor of Dance Sheryl Saterstrom. The first of four lectures, the event will be in Viking Theater in Buntrock Commons. It is free and open to the public. Other lectures in the Hope Lecture Series are Wednesday, April 6, 13 and 20, all at 7:30 p.m.
