St. Olaf will host Minnesota Orchestra during five-city tour
February 17, 2005
The Minnesota Orchestra will undertake a five-day tour of southern Minnesota February 17-25 featuring Beethoven's Fourth and Fifth Symphonies. This tour will be led by Music Director Osmo Vanska, his first state-wide introduction since assuming this position in September 2003.
St. Olaf College will be the first concert on the tour schedule, 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, in Skoglund Center Auditorium. General admission tickets ($20, adults; $10, students age 6 through college) may be charged by calling 507-646-3017. Tickets also will be sold at the door and are available weekdays (cash or check) at the Buntrock Commons office, second floor.
The Minnesota Orchestra tour includes concerts in Windom, Sauk Centre, Willmar and Dassel-Cokato. "It is an honor for St. Olaf to be hosting one of the world's great professional orchestras for an on-campus concert," says Jan McDaniel, vice president for college relations and a member of the Minnesota Orchestra board of directors.
