Leonhard to 'tell stories, explore worlds' in autumn show at St. Olaf

September 13, 2002

Linda Foster Leonhard fuses incongruent images to create a sense of irony and displacement. The artist marries her emotions and the world around her, inviting viewers to interpret what they see as it relates to their own life. Leonhard has been featured at the Sesquehanna Art Museum (Pennsylvania), the Old Dominion University Gallery (Virginia) and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in Colorado. She also participated in TransCultural Exchange's "Coaster Project Destination: The World," which was shown at more than 100 locations around the globe. Leonhard's show at St. Olaf College, "Old Objects, New Expressions," opens at the Flaten Art Museum in Dittmann Center on Friday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m. The show runs through Oct. 13.
