Associate Professor of English Jim Heynen has something special in store for his first-year writing class -- and for anyone else on campus who would like to participate. Heynen?s class will host guest speakers this fall who will look at the ways in which writing can change the world. On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Heynen and his class will host Father Greg Skrypek, chaplain at the Stillwater Correctional Facility for the past 18 years. Skrypek will address prison problems and possible solutions in Library 515 at 11:45 a.m. And on Tuesday, Nov. 12, Eric Ringham, commentary editor for the Star Tribune, will address how to write opinion pieces for newspapers. This class will be in Library 515 at 11:45 a.m. Both events are open to the public.
