Men's Cross Country takes fifth at home invite

Peder Arneson (Jr. Montevideo, Minn.) was the Ole's top finisher in the St. Olaf Invitational, placing 19th out of a 232-man field with a time of 26:23. St. Olaf finished fifth overall in the field of 25.

Mark Sullivan(Sr., West Bend, Wis./West) finished 26th, while Rob Hillard (Sr. Columbia, Mo./Hickman) and Kelly Fulton (So. Billings, Mont./Senior) finished in 30th and 31st. Malcolm Richards (So. Minneapolis, Minn./South) rounded out the top five with 42nd place.

St. Olaf finished ahead of 17th ranked Washington University, but was behind highly respected Massachusetts Institute of Technology. National perennial powerhouse North Central College, who will return for the Pre-National Meet in October, also finished ahead of the Oles.

The varsity will be taking another weekend off while the JV will be racing at home in the JV Classic on Saturday afternoon. The men's race will begin at 5:15 in the Skoglund Fields.
