Alumna to perform with New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players

Angela Smith '96 will perform the role of "Little Buttercup" in the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players' full production of H.M.S. Pinafore at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis Tuesday, March 4 (tickets are available to the public).

The ensemble also will perform in her hometown of Sauk Centre, Minn., where Smith will have the opportunity to talk to current students of her former high school choir conductor.

Smith has been a member of the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players since she moved to New York in 1997. Highlights of her career so far include performing with NYGASP at the Buxton, England Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in 2003, and appearing as "Ruth" in the Pirates of Penzance with Hal Linden as "The Major General" in 2005. She also appears as a featured soloist on the 2002 NYGASP recording, Oh Joy! Oh, Rapture!

Smith has performed with various other companies, including South Carolina Opera, Delaware Opera, the G&S Society of NY, Light Opera of New York and Liederkranz Opera.
