This summer St. Olaf Assistant Professor/Clarinet Jun Qian traveled to Taiwan to teach master classes at Tainan National University of Arts and Kaoshung Educational Unversity, both of which host some of the top fine arts programs in the country. He also conducted a master class and recruitment activities at National CingShei Senior High school, which has one of the nation's top high school music programs.

In addition, Qian visited Nanjing Arts Institute in China -- home of the first arts institute established in China, where he opened discussions about possible future collaboration with St. Olaf.

Qian will travel to Singapore in October to teach master classes and present a solo recital.
