St. Olaf College named Craig Stern head football coach Friday.

Stern, a member of the St. Olaf football staff for the last nine seasons and assistant head coach for the last three, is the college's 13th head football coach.

"We're excited for our football program," St. Olaf Athletic Director Matt McDonald '89 says. "Craig has been an integral part of our success over the last decade, and he is ready to lead."

Prior to his time at St. Olaf, Stern served as defensive coordinator at Concordia University-St. Paul for five seasons.
