Kirsten has worked at St. Olaf since 2005, starting as Associate Director, and now the Senior Associate Director. Kirsten most enjoys relationship building with internal and external partners and fostering connections between alumni, parents, employers and St. Olaf students. Building new and innovative programs, events, and learning opportunities are other interests. Internally, she has served on the Main Street “Connections” subcommittee, the Higher Learning Commission/Wabash Study Project Assessment Steering Committee, Student Life Committee and Lilly Grant committee. Externally, Kirsten is Chair of the Minnesota Private College Career Consortium, and serves on the Liberal Arts Career Network Benchmarking Task Force.
Kirsten’s previous roles include Assistant Director of the Personal and Professional Development Center at St. John's University and Career Counselor at Colby College. She has also worked at Macalester College and University Counseling and Consulting Services (UCCS) at the University of Minnesota.
A 1998 graduate of St. Olaf College, Kirsten double majored in psychology and exercise science. She obtained her Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, specializing in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology. Kirsten also earned Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). In her free time, Kirsten is an alpine ski coach for the Buck Hill Ski Racing USSA Team.
