Ph.D. in biology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA

Feel free to visit my website:

Classes - Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Invertebrate Zoology, Probing Life with Light, Evolutionary Foundations of Diversity.

Research - I have two, very different  research programs.  On the one hand, I study the cytoskeletal and nuclear activities associated with pattern formation and reproductive behavior (mating) in the ciliate,Tetrahymena thermophila employing genetics, molecular genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology, and above all, advanced light microscopy techniques to try and unravel the logic of this fascinating developmental program.  On the other hand I explore the life-histories of marine invertebrates in salt-water ponds on islands in the Caribbean.   More detail
