Brittan joined the Smith Center for Global Engagement in 2017. As Advising Coordinator, she is responsible for:
- Student advising on a vareity of topics, including but not limited to;
- Program selection
- Scholarships
- Application processes
- Identity/equity
- Pre-departure programming and support (i.e. orientation);
- Re-entry programming and support;
- Transcript and grade translation from IOS programs; and
- A portfolio of select January Term programs
Brittan identifies as a first generation student and transfer student. Brittan holds a Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in History and Political Science. During her undergraduate studies, Brittan completed a semester-length study abroad experience at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England, United Kingdom and participated in a faculty-led January Term program based in İstanbul, Turkey. After completing her B.A., Brittan worked abroad in Zhuhai, People's Republic of China, at Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in the English Language Center. Brittan has also taught snowboarding lessons and worked in pre-K through 12 educational settings. Outside of her work at St. Olaf, Brittan enjoys traveling, riding & showing horses both English and Western, snowboarding, and attending various concerts (mostly rock!).
