Area: Admissions and financial aid operations and leadership; students from New Mexico, Arizona, and Hawaii
Chris and St. Olaf College share the hometown of Northfield, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Olaf in 1994, where he received his degree in mathematics; soon after, Chris moved to Denver, Colorado, where he received his master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Denver.
For 15 years, Chris served in a variety of capacities at DU, including housing, institutional research, admission, and financial aid. His interest in enrollment was inspired by the personal connections and the varying factors that influence students and families in the college selection process. Most recently, Chris was the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment & Director of Financial Aid.
In October 2014, Chris returned to Minnesota to assume the role as Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid, where he leads the enrollment division. Whether it's in the mile-high Rocky Mountains or the rolling hills of Southern Minnesota, Chris and his family enjoy the outdoors. An avid runner, he is always on the hunt for his next race.
Fittingly, Chris' favorite place on campus is the St. Olaf campus quad in the fall. "It's a place to relax, reflect, recreate, study, see an old friend or make a new one. You can be among hundreds of students or find a quiet corner to just be by yourself."
