Melissa works mainly with Fine Arts, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary faculty, helping them apply for grants that support a variety of projects. She is happy to conduct custom research to find grant opportunities. Once a grant is identified, she guides faculty in responding accurately to guidelines and she reads proposal drafts, offering editing suggestions to strengthen the tie between the project and funder priorities. Her goal is to act as an outside reader, assessing whether key messages are coming across. She also helps faculty develop budgets for projects. Close to submission time, Melissa proofreads applications and helps faculty submit applications through online portals. 

Melissa also assists the GFCR Director with preparing and submitting institutional grant applications.
