I visited St. Olaf on an October visit day with my daughter in 2017 and was captivated by the campus and the energy of the people studying and working here. After working in a K-8 school for years, I was ready for a new challenge and shortly after that visit found the perfect role in the Office of Student Activities! Student engagement is a vital part of the college experience and I love being a part of that experience. Part of our office mission is to “know each Ole by name and story.” While we may not know every student, we know many of them! We may know them through participation in student organizations, leadership, student employment, or even just visits to the popcorn machine and candy basket. We provide a space for students to feel valued, welcomed, and part of something outside of the classroom. Although one of my favorite things to do is talking to people (which I get to do all day long,) I also enjoy reading, hiking, bothering my children, and eating good food prepared by someone else.
