My name is Cindy Herda and I joined St. Olaf on April 18th, 2022. I received my certification in Medical Assisting from Everest Institute in 2008.  Being a Medical Assistant, I have had the opportunity to work in many different types of medical offices, but never at a school of higher education. I love it! In the short time I have been here I have already advanced my career by becoming the Infectious Control Nurse and also a backup Case Manager, should the need arise. With my skills I am able to do blood draws for students for various labs, but most especially the TB screening that St. Olaf requires for our international students. It makes it so much more convenient for them to have this service on campus. I can finally say that I enjoy my job!!!

I love to cook and am always trying out new recipes. I also have a garden and do lots of canning. I was born in Northfield and raised on a dairy farm outside of town. I needed to spread my wings a bit and after a few years of living in the cities I made my way back to the place I call home! Northfield. I am so happy to be here at St Olaf and really enjoy the diversity and different cultures I get to experience. I am married to my wonderful husband, Tony. We have 2 little monsters that keep us on our toes every day!
