About

Susan graduated from St. Olaf in 2009 with a BA in Music and Sociology/Anthropology. While completing her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology, she returned to St. Olaf in 2017 to lead the prospect research, management, and business intelligence functions for the Advancement Division. In 2023, she was promoted to Director of Advancement Operation & Strategies, charged with leading a dynamic team of six data professionals who serve as the strategic and operational "nerve center" of the division. She is fully-remote, based out of Denver, Colorado.

While a student, Susan sang in the St. Olaf Choir, lived in an honor house, and earned a post-baccalaureate scholarship to study abroad in Budapest, Hungary, where she later completed ethnographic reseach toward her book Alternative Tourism in Budapest. She is an enthusiastic Ole and counts her years on the Hill among the most influential in her life.
