Courtney Humm earned a B.A. in Social Studies Education from St. Olaf College and an M.Ed. in Learning and Teaching from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Humm is a licensed to teach social studies and has experience teaching world history, U.S. history, civics, and sociology in Mussoorie, India and St. Paul. Courtney has taught Social Studies Perspectives and will be teaching Counseling and Communication in the Schools, Hindsight is 2020: Lessons in Teaching and Learning (first-year seminar course), Schools and Urban Communities, Foundations of U.S. Education and Principles of Education. Her areas of interest include education equity, culturally responsive-sustaining pedagogy, the creation of community in the classroom and civic education. When not on the Hill, Courtney enjoys running, practicing yoga, reading and spending time outside with her husband (also an Ole) and three young kids.
