Ms. Hupton is an Assistant Director of Student Support in the Center for Advising and Academic Support. She is an Academic Coach, co- leads the peer tutoring program, advises students on academic probation and students seeking an individual major, and also works closely with the SOAR (St. Olaf Orientation for Academics and Resources) program for first-year students. Ms. Hupton is dedicated to supporting students through their academic career on The Hill and helping them realize their full academic potential.
Ms. Hupton earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adophus College and her M.Ed. from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. Before coming to St. Olaf, she spent 18 years as a classroom teacher mostly teaching middle school Social Studies and Math. She especially loved teaching and learning about Minnesota History.
Tara currently resides in Northfield with her husband, a high school English teacher and tennis coach, and two kids. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, playing games, being up north, and cheering for her kids in music and sports.
