Jodi joined St. Olaf as the Smith Center for Global Engagement director in 2013. She is responsible for program and faculty development initiatives, enhancement of access to study abroad/away, and academic civic engagement.
Jodi has over twenty years of experience in international education and higher education, managing study abroad/away programs, working with faculty, and teaching and advising students. She has published on a variety of international education topics, including short-term program development, study abroad participation and graduation rates, and inclusion for students with disabilities. Jodi is presently working on a Mellon Foundation grant-funded study of intersectional identities and faculty-led short-term programs.
Jodi received her B.A. from St. Olaf and her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Among her many international experiences, she conducted dissertation research in France and was a 2008 Fulbright IEA grant recipient to Japan. Her favorite place in the world is the North Shore of Lake Superior.
