My name is Andrea Marshall and I work as the Associate Director of Wellness and Health Promotion. I started at St. Olaf on November 14th, 2022. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health and Physical Education from St. Cloud State University and a Bachelor of Science in School Health Education and Coaching from Minnesota State University in Mankato. I also received a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University in Mankato.

My purpose as the Associate Director of Wellness and Health Promotion is to employ a public health framework and person-centered approach to coordinate Wellness Center activities and outreach at St. Olaf. This work focuses on the nine areas of wellness (emotional, physical, sexual, financial, substance, intellectual, spiritual, social, and environmental) to develop education programs that focus on increasing help-seeking behaviors, debunking health myths, and empowering students to live more balanced and healthy lives. A critical component of this job is developing a trusting and caring relationship with student educators.

I enjoy hiking, traveling, decorating, playing volleyball, reading, and being a lifelong curious learner. I love all things water (lakes, rivers, oceans), nature, and mountains! Other things to note: My previous job experience includes teaching Health Education in a public-school setting (Faribault Public Schools), being Director of Health Promotion (Salt Lake City Community College) and working as a Community Health Specialist at Steele County Public Health. Teaching is my professional passion and I most enjoy the interactions with students on a daily basis!
