Charlie joined the Piper Center staff in August of 2026, and is very excited to be returning to campus. Charlie primarily serves Oles who are considering careers in social impact & nonprofits, government, education, gap year & service programs, religion & ministry, and those who are undecided/exploring. Charlie has direct experience in many of these career areas (including often being undecided/exploring!).
Charlie graduated from St. Olaf in 2016, and he majored in social work and religion. He was also active in choir, spring break service trips and extended Cage hangouts. After graduating, Charlie spent a year as a volunteer with Lutheran Volunteer Corps, working as a case manager at a homeless shelter in Chicago.
Charlie earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota in 2020 and a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago in 2024. He has served clients as an individual and group mental health therapist in clinic and school-based settings. He has experience in a variety of social service organizations, in both direct service and in nonprofit administration. He has also worked with college students previously as a therapist and in university spiritual life offices.
In his free time, Charlie enjoys exploring new bike trails, discussing the latest movies and cooking for friends and family.
