Area: Alaska and Minnesota (western Twin Cities metro schools and Minneapolis and southwest suburbs schools) and transfer students

Originally from Lakeville, Minnesota, Jill graduated from St. Olaf in 1998 with a major in psychology. She appreciated the liberal arts nature of her education and the relationship she had with faculty, specifically her academic advisor who helped her navigate the process of changing her major.

During college, Jill worked in the admissions office as a student employee and tour guide. That experience inspired her to pursue the role of an admissions officer -- 20 years ago! Over her almost two decades of working in the admissions office, Jill has gained an even greater appreciation for the vitality of the student body and the opportunities available to students while they’re at St. Olaf.

Jill’s favorite part of her job is getting to know students. She values that each student is unique and brings different strengths and passions to St. Olaf. She enjoys learning from the students and is continually in awe of them. Working at St. Olaf allows Jill to have an impact on the future of her alma mater, which is especially meaningful to her.

Jill’s favorite place on campus is the Natural Lands. Not only does she enjoy taking advantage of the miles of walking/jogging trails and having an up-close view of the Wind Turbine, she enjoys seeing collaboration between students and faculty in that space.
