Troy Wellington Smith is a PhD candidate in the Department of Scandinavian at the University of California, Berkeley. For the 2021-2022 academic year, he is the Kierkegaard House Foundation Fellow of the Hong Kierkegaard Library, where he also serves as Special Consultant for the Rare Book Collection and Project Director of the Archives. At Berkeley, he taught Reading and Composition courses on Hans Christian Andersen and the Danish Golden Age, and an elective on Kierkegaard. He has been a visiting researcher at the Søren Kierkegaard Centre of the University of Copenhagen, and a Summer Fellow at the Hong Kierkegaard Library. He spent the winter semester 2019-2020 in Germany as a UCB Institute of European Studies fellow at the University of Greifswald.
