Nancy Thompson received her BA from Southern Methodist University and her MA and PhD from Indiana University in Bloomington. Nancy teaches introductory courses in Art History and upper-level courses in medieval and Renaissance art. She also teaches Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies.
Nancy is currently at work on a new medieval art textbook with her co-author Anne Harris of Depauw University. The book will be published by Oxford University Press. She's written several essays and articles about stained glass in Italy, and she is also always at work on a book-length study of Italian medieval stained glass. Nancy is a founding member of the Material Collective, an organization dedicated to fostering respectful intellectual exchange and innovative scholarship in the study of the visual arts, in the academy, and in the broader, public sphere.
