Xavion Turey is a Coaching and Student Success Specialist in the Academic Success Center at St. Olaf College. He brings a blended approach to this student-centered position, and is excited to help students thrive academically and professionally.

Xavion’s approach is shaped by a diverse professional background—equally comfortable wearing a business suit or a hazmat suit. As a hogh school chemistry teacher in Palmer, Massachusetts, he gained an appreciation for learning styles and group dynamics. Later, as a tutor and academic support specialist at South Central College in Faribault, Minnesota, he mastered time management, study skills, and self-advocacy.

Xavion holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Worcester State University, and was the first in his family to navigate higher education outside of Puerto Rico. Consequently, he understands the importance of persistence and adaptability for student success.

Outside of his professional work, Xavion enjoys kayaking, photography, and youth ministries (often combining all three). He finds inspiration in nature and brings that same sense of curiosity and reflection into his work with students.
