What I love most about teaching is working with students to develop intellectual tools they can use in the classroom and in the world beyond campus.

My current research focuses on representations of the Parisian metro in modern literature and film, particularly as it relates to questions of cultural and social identity. I am also interested in travel literature and theory, immigration studies, theories of the everyday, and popular culture.

Beyond teaching and research, I enjoy genre fiction and shows (especially sci-fi and crime series), perusing dog appreciation accounts on Twitter, and spending time with friends and family.
