The Oles were riding a two game winning streak coming into Friday's match up against Wisconsin-Stout and were looking to extend it to a season high three games. Friday night found the Oles lighting the lamp nine times as they outscored the Blue Knights 9-3.

Josh Biser (FY, Waunakee, Wisconsin) got the scoring started when he fired a shot from just inside the blue line that slipped through the goalies pads. Biser let the shot go quickly catching the goalie off guard. The goal was Bisers second of the season.

Stout would answer six minutes later to tie the game at one. Four minutes later Joel Ihrie (FY, Woodinville, Washington) notched his first goal of the game. Ronn Guild (FY, Kent, Washington) and Dana Quinn (So. Madison, Wisconsin) were credited with the assists. But once again the Blue Knights would answer just minutes later, tying the game at two.

It was senior Jordan Bronce who put the Oles ahead for good as he snipped a shot up stairs on the butterflying goalie. Dan Norsten (Jr. Eagan, Minnesota) knocked a Stout player off the puck and passed to senior captain Nick Hanson (Eden Prairie, Minnesota), Hanson fed Bronce in the slot and a quick shot past the goalie.

The second period saw more of the same for the Oles, as the rallied for three goals in the first ten minutes and one more in the remainder of the period. The Oles leading scorer Keith Townsend (Sophomore, Sterling Heights, Michigan) scored two goals and helped out on three others, tallying five points in the game. Ihrie would score his second goal of the night on a break away, beating the goalie low glove to put the Oles up 5-2. Guild hammered home the nail when he beat the Blue Knights goalie again with a low glove shot.

The third period was the more of the same as St. Olaf out shot their opponent 23-9. Ihrie would burry his third of the night, completing the first hatrick since Case Martin (Jr, Fairbanks, Alaska) did it last year against Northland. Pat Gilles (Sophomore, Waunakee, Wisconsin) returned from injury to score his third goal of the season, firing home a rebound on the power play. Dan Kehler (FY, Woodbury, Minnesota) stopped 39 of the 42 shots he faced for his second win of the season.
