Men's hoops handled by Johnnies

The Saint John's University men's basketball team built a 15-point halftime lead and defeated St. Olaf 66-56 Monday night at Skoglund Athletic Center.

The Oles were able to get as close as eight in the second half.

The St. Olaf (7-3, 3-2) loss snapped a six-game home winning streak at Skoglund dating to last season.

Tim Nelson (Sr., Braham, Minn.) had 12 points and Kevin Jaunich (Sr., Delano, Minn.) and Mike Ludwig (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) each had 11.

Kevin Buth and Shawn McGuire had 22 and 20 points for Saint John's (5-6, 4-2).

St. Olaf will travel to Bethel on Wednesday for a 7:30 meeting with the Royals. The game can be heard on 920 AM, KDHL.
