Augsburg College erased a nine-point St. Olaf first half lead and defeated the Oles 70-60 in a men's basketball game at Si Melby Hall in Minneapolis Saturday afternoon.

Justin Bonestroo (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) had his first career double-double, scoring a career-high 22 points and coralling ten rebounds for St. Olaf (7-5, 3-4). It was Bonestroo's second straight ten-rebound effort.

The Oles led by just four at the half, 34-30. Augsburg (5-8, 2-6) began the second half on a 19-4 run to lead by 11 with over 11 minutes to play. St. Olaf countered with a run of their own, cutting the lead to one on a Bonestroo three with 7:16 to play. The Oles, however, could muster just five points in the games final five minutes.

Jay Howard had 16 of his team-high 21 points in the second half for the Auggies. Tim Nelson (Sr., Braham, Minn.) added 10 points for the Oles.

St. Olaf forward Matt Schlenker (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo) returned after missing Wednesday's game with a deep bone bruise. Schlenker finished with eight points and nine rebounds.

The Oles return to action Wednesday night when they host Macalester College at 7:30 p.m. at Skoglund Center. The game is free of admission and can be heard on 920 AM, KDHL.
