Tommies top Ole women hockey, 2-0

On Saturday, January 11, the Oles hosted the St. Thomas Tommies. The Oles put forth a tremendous effort against the conference leaders. In the first period alone, the Oles put 10 shots on goal. However, St. Thomas scored at 13:14 in the first, taking an early lead.

Despite both offensive and defensive efforts, the Tommies scored again at 6:50 in the second period bringing their lead to 2-0. The game continued to be a physical battle with many penalties assessed during both the second and third periods.

In the third period, the Oles put forth a great effort to get on the scoreboard. They put a total of 8 shots on goal for the third period. Unfortunately the Oles were unable to score. The game ended with the final score 2-0, St. Thomas. The Oles had a total of 24 shots on goal. Ole goaltender, Kerry Rollwagen (So, Mendota Heights, Minn.) had a total of 21 saves against the Tommies.

The Oles will play the Tommies again on Sunday, January 12, at Parade Ice Garden at 2pm.
