Women's basketball downed by Cobbers

Concordia-Moorhead College shot 57.1 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from three-point land in the second half to overcome ten-point halftime deficit and down St. Olaf 56-51 Wednesday night in Moorhead.

Jamie Visness connected on four three-pointers for Concordia in the second half and scored 18 of their 37 second-half points. Sara Erickson (Sr. Cambridge, Minn.) scored 19 points for the Oles, and Liz Mundahl (Sr. Eagan, Minn.) was the only other player in double figures with 11. St. Olaf was just 21.9 percent from the field after halftime scoring only 22 points after leading 29-19 at the break. The Cobbers had their own bout of ice-cold shooting, going 25 percent from the field in the first half.

While Concordia committed 24 turnovers compared to St. Olaf's 17, the Cobbers were 17 of 22 from the line and St. Olaf was six of eight. The Oles had the slight edge in rebounding, 38-35. Jill Johnson (Jr. Butterfield, Minn.) led the team with eight rebounds. Kasey Bostow had ten rebounds and 19 points for Concordia.

The Oles host the University of Saint Mary?s on Saturday, January 25. Game time is 3:00.
