St. Olaf Senior, Mike Ludwig (Blane, Minn.) scored 20 points in the St. Olaf game vs. Hamline on January 20, 2003. Ludwig's 20 points put him in second place for all-time scoring at St. Olaf with 1,408 points. The previous record for second place was held by Dan Halverson '73 with 1,388 points. Ludwig tied Halversen with 1,388 points after he scored 14 points against St. Thomas on Saturday, January 18th.

In the Hamline game, Ludwig scored just 4:01 into the game as teammate Justin Bonestroo (Sr., Stillwater, Minn) stole the ball and fed the pass to Ludwig, who scored with a jumper under the left side of the basket. The Oles stopped the game momentarily as the bench emptied and Ludwig was congratulated by his teammates. St. Olaf men's basketball coach Dan Kosmoski presented Ludwig with the game ball. Ludwig went on to score 20 points in the Ole loss to Hamline.

Ludwig has scored in double digits in 15-of-16 games this season and scored in double digits in 75-of-82 games in his St. Olaf career, missing seven games due to injury.
