Amy Gage
July 23, 2003

AmeriKappleik, the 20th anniversary gathering of the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America (HFAA), will take place July 23 to 27 on the campus of St. Olaf College. The five-day event will feature public concerts and dances, jam sessions and lectures related to the violin-like Hardanger fiddle, often called "the national instrument of Norway." Among the featured performers will be Andrea Een, an associate professor of music at St. Olaf and winner in 2002 of the prestigious St. Olav's Medal, bestowed by the king of Norway. For more information, see the HFAA web site. Or call Annamarie Pluhar at 301-588-4001.
