Mandy Erdmann 04 to defend her world title in the ESPN Great Outdoor Games

Mandy Erdmann ?04 just keeps rolling along. A four-time world champion and gold medalist in the women?s boom run (she set the boom run world record of 15.57 seconds), and second in the world in women?s professional log rolling, Mandy will defend her title in the annual ESPN Great Outdoor Games on Sunday, July 13. The women?s boom run event begins at 11 a.m. and can be seen on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports. Mandy will also compete in the women?s log rolling event on Saturday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. The Great Outdoor Games, in which top international athletes match up in 20 events across four sport disciplines, runs July 10 through 13.

During the school year Mandy, a La Crosse, Wis. native who has been competing since 1989, practices log rolling in the St. Olaf pool with freshman and fellow competitor Doug Goodmundson from Wayzata, Minn. Doug, who also will participate in the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, will compete in the men?s boom run on Sunday, July 13 at 8:30 a.m. Doug placed fifth in the 2002 Great Outdoor Games.
